A beautiful life, Cyndimae Meehan passed last Sunday, she suffered from Dravet syndrome, a disorder that is a rare genetic epileptic dysfunction of the brain. Regulations in the State of Connecticut do not allow pediatric medical marijuana or CBD use, even for special conditions. Unfortunately, many states have this restrictive regulation and it needs to be modified.
In the past two years we know of only seven children in this great country of ours that have died from illnesses that could have been treated by medical marijuana or CBD, how many others have passed that we don’t know about? And now we have a beautiful soul gone, and the only thing we can comfort the family with is the words “I’m sorry for your loss”. Does this help the family members in the grieving process, I think not!
As Chairman of Novus MMJ Health Plan I believe the State and Federal Government failed you, and every other patient, by blocking necessary medicine. The State and Federal Government should apologize for letting you slip through the cracks, for not knowing who you were, for not knowing of your condition, for not working harder to help your cause, and most importantly for not allowing you the medicine you needed. At Novus we are focused on supporting the rights of patients to receive the medication they need.
Novus keeps our members and patients in the forefront, and if anyone in this great country of ours wants to be apart of our plan and is under 18 years old with an illness requiring medical service and/or meds, We make this commitment to you:. Come and be apart of our MMJ health plan at no charge, we will take each and every one of you as apart of our family and we give it our all to make sure you have the treatment you rightly deserve. So to the family of Cyndimae Meehan, when your heart grieves over what it has lost, the spirit rejoices over what it has left.
